Krav Maga Worldwide was established by Darren Levene in 1983.
Darren Levene, a 6th degree Black Belt was introduced to Krav Maga in 1981 when he was invited with a group of delegates to train in Israel for 6 weeks. Durring this period, Imi, then 71, befrended Darren and chose to visit Darren the following year in the USA. During his visit to the USA Imi spent several weeks with Darren and his family teaching Darren his Krav Maga. Following Imi's visit in 1982, each summer Darren and Imi would meet Darren for more training Ini would send one of his senior instructors to train with Darren. In 1984 Imi graded Darren to Blackbelt. At the ceremony Imi and gave Darren his own (Imi's own) Blackbelt.
In 1982 Darren began teaching Krav Maga at the Herschel day school and his Krav Maga programme eventually became so popular that it was eventually incorporated into the school Physical Education Programme. At the time of writing Krav Maga Worldwide has licensed training centers across the U.S.A, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Europe and now the UK. The Krav Maga Worldwide logo is an assurance of quality training in authentic Krav Maga as taught by Imi Sde Or.
In 1987 Darren taught the first Law Enforcement course and Imi, then 77, flew over to attend and support Darren. By 1997 The first National training centre was opened in the USA.
Krav Maga Worldwide in Europe
In 1996, Larissa and Thierry Viatour launched Krav Maga Performance (formerly Ecole Liegeoise de Krav Maga) and he began teaching Krav Maga to the Belgian army.
Krav Maga became increasing popular in Belgium under Thierry, who while continuing his training in Europe, in Israel during private classes with Haim Guidon (student of Imi) then finally, in United States with John Whitman (student of Darren Levine) at the Krav Maga Training Center of Los Angeles.
In February 2006, a new entity was born in Europe! Krav Maga Worldwide Europe.
Thierry Viatour joined the world's leaders of the field ... Krav Maga Worldwide Enterprises and the Krav Maga Association of America to promote authentic Krav Maga in Europe.
At the time of writing Krav Mag Worldwide Europe has over 40 training locastions including 2 in the UK.
